To apply for a Barclays credit card, simply use our application form and follow the instructions.
Please note that the application form is only available in German. However, you can use browser translators if necessary.

Have the following information ready

Residence in Germany, possibly your previous address

Bank details at a bank in Germany

Proof of regular monthly income
-
Mobile number, email address

You must be at least 18 years old

If you are not an EU citizen, please provide a valid residence permit

When filling out the application ...
... you will be asked for your contact details and personal information. Then you can verify your identity online via WebID or by going to a Deutsche Post office.

Make sure to provide your details exactly as they appear on your ID card or passport. As a non-EU citizen, please send us your residence permit together with the signed application.

Your residence permit must be valid for at least two years from the date of the credit card application.

For identity verification, we offer two options:

At your post office: Print out the application (Postident coupon is attached), sign it, and take it to the nearest post office with your ID card or passport and the Postident coupon. As a non-EU citizen, please also send us a copy of your residence permit and your work permit if your residence permit does not include a work permit.

Online: Using your smartphone or PC you can start the video call with our partner WebID Solutions any time between 8:00-22:00. Have your ID card or passport ready, and sign digitally via SMS-TAN.
If you prefer to do the VideoIdent call in English, make sure to ask the WebID agents at the start of your call.
4.
Ready, your card is on its way
After you provide the above documents, your account will be opened. We will send you an email with all the information. Even before receiving your Barclays credit card, you can use our money transfer service to your existing checking account. Just a few days later, your credit card will arrive per post.
